what a thesis should be. " contestable, proposing an arguable point with which people could reasonably disagree."
Ok, when you think about a thesis statement some people cringe and some people cry. It usually means you have to write a super long paper and come up with one line to sum it all up. In my past paper writing days the teacher would always have us come up with a "thesis". Why? What was the point? Just let us write the paper and get on with it. But now further into my educational career i now see how this is a great tool to use. To me a thesis statement is like the glue that holds the whole paper together. First you come up with key words like what we did in class which was a great idea mold them into something called a sentence that has some sort of argument or question associated with it, and viola you have a THESIS! Now knowing this little tid bit of onfo. I will now start my papers off this way, knowing that it will be a strong backbone to my incrdibly awesome paper. And thats Nickels 2 cents.
