MY LAST BLOG POST!!!
Well it has been a great semester testing out the waters of blogger. It has shown me that i can write whatever i want on the internet and people can read it. It is my freedom of speech on the internet and it will stay their forever Im not blogging about anything i guess this post but just saying that it has been a fun semester at MSU and it is getting cold outside. Hell week is a little over half way done and my assignments are getting checked of as we speak. I recomend anyone who is reading this to def. take a research class at your college or high school. The rewards are amazing and it will totally help you out in learning how to do CORRECT research and cite things etc. Everyone have a great Christmas and Nickels extra change of the day is HIBERNATING until January Goodbye and have a great Christmas everybody THANKS MRS. ROBINSON!!!~NiCkEl
Forcasting the Future
The future of technology is a scary yet exciting thing. Think about 10 years ago and how computers and phones were like. We all had those Nokia brick phones and the computers could barely do anything besides run a few 16 bit games and the internet haha(remember the phone line ding ding!) I dread that noise. Now in the ending of year 2011 we all have "smart phones" which can do everything a computer can do, call your friends, voice and face talk with people and check your facebook while ordering a pizza whoohoo! Computers are almost being put on the back burner since they are being taken over by ipads and the whole "tablet revolution" I dont see what the big hoopla is about tablets but im sure by this time next year i will end up having one. One can only dream of what the future will hold for the computers and phones. I can only imagine what it will be like 5 years from now. I can still remember seeing a prototype of a phone that had a camera on it saying "yeah right like thats ever gonna catch on"~Nickel
University Students' Perceptions of Plagiarism
OH MY GOODNESSS another plagerising post. Yes we all know that plagerism is wrong adn that no one should do it yet their are a select few idiotic people who think educated proffessors will not catch a paper that sounds like the duke of ellington wrote it and not you. I mean come on teachers know how college kids or most of us write and talk and if you come off sounding like a news caster than your probobly gonna get caught and slapped with a CHEATING stamp on your Record. i really don't have anything else to say about plagerism because i have said so much about it in my other posts.

MSU Hell Week!!!
Ok this is really getting to me and my friends, Its the last week before the semester ends and well we have finals after so its the second to last BUT WHATEVER! Think about this your a student who is taking 4-5 classes and the last week of REAL school your teachers have you do TONS of assignments and papers. Now im not talking about all teachers but for the most part it just happens and really sucks. I think the last week of school should be a review week where we all go over everything that we have learned throughout the year and review it. im sure eeryone will and would do better on their finals but what do i know im just paying out the but to go here and im a student i have no idea!!! RIGHT? ~Nickel
Citations Citations Citations.....
Citations are the backbone to any good scholarly written paper(i spelled that wrong but its a blog) ok well if you decide to take or borrow someones work or wording from something you must cite them or mention them in your paper somewhere in the text. If you do not then well that is plagirism!!! OH NO. and that is bad. I remember a few years back i was doing an axtra credit assignment and i copied 3 sentences straight off of a website and did not cite them. I was caught and i got in trouble which was bull-ony because it was extra credit and i dont really want to re-live that. But yes citing sources is impirtant and only takes a few seconds. Just find out who the person is who wrote the paper or article make a works cited page and slap their name down DONE~Nickel
The End of Software Ownership
Well i can take this topic and relate it to my family. its kind of a funny one but here it goes. My father worked for *** and they gave him Novell computer server cd's(its a bunch of codes and such) worth about $5,000. He was told only to use the Cd's at work and only for himself. But 17 years has past and he still has the cd's(of course they are far expired.) Now does my dad own those cd's or not? Does Novell, the software company own them or my father? There is a grey area here in software ownership and the same in real world smaller applications like you and I
For example lets say i buy a computer game and decide toburn the game and give it to my friend free of charge. Is that a breach of my contract from wal-mart buying the game? I never signed anything saying i wouldnt burn it or trade it. And whats up with the used book stores reselling cd's and computer games what gives???~Nickel

Cell Phone Plans are Getting Stupid!
Ok here is a rant on cell phone plans and data plans. I currently have tmobile and have had sprint for about a month but we dumped them because of all the extra charges they added, SO i will just do cell phone companies in general. Ok now every carrier has only "smart phones" or phones that YOU MUST buy a $10 data plan for and that only goes up. That deciding on which carrier you go with and what plan, phone etc. you have or get. What gets me is the data plan that you must have thats #1 on my pissy cell phone rant.
#2 You must sign up for a 2 year contract no matter if the service sucks and if you want to breach contract you must pay at least $200
#3 One of the advertising gimmicks they have is that only certein carriers carry certein brands of phones. For example i beleive verizon and at&t are the only carriers who have the iphone while tmobile does not have an iphone but they do have other phones so its a trade off to which phone you want
ITS ALL SO CONFUSING AHHHH~Nickel

Keeping up with LOR 101
Lor 101 was is and will forever always be awesome. i could end it their but i prob. wont get points for this blog so i will go more in depth. I beleive this class was well thought out by Mrs. Robinson and the course load was just on par with what we were covering and trying to accomplish. The lectures than the discussion were great ideas that mixed well together. The classroom atmosphere was not there AND THIS WAS GOOD! It made people really come out of their shells and make the class that much better.
Course load like i said was great. we had 3 blog posts a week to do and the occational paper or assignment which made up for the 1 day a week meeting(wish it was more) I will greatly miss this class and the Great teacher~Nickel

Information Seeking Behavior LOR
This class(LOR 101) is probobly the best class i have taken all year and i will tell you why. First i will start off with how we are shown to retreive information from accredited sources, unlike wikipedia. Then we must cite the sources and blah blah blah......you get the point. This has made finding information and writing papers SOOOO much easier than before. I know know how to find information and discuss it in class.
The discussions in class are also very helpful and make it seem not like a classroom but like we are all friends just talking and having fun yet learning. I will say it again i have learned more in this class than any other that i have taken. At least real world information i will use everyday~Nickel

Dont Steal work or Plagerize!!!
Plagerising is wrong. i remember back in my grade school and high school days everyone would copy and paste all kinds of papers, even the whole thing. most teachers didnt use the online program where you enter it through the internet. but when that came along people STILL copied works. i couldnt beleive it. I remember one time in high school our teacher left his projection screen up on the wall and he was in his office and it showed all the people who copied papers most were green, which ment good. Some were yellow, which ment eh. and a few were in the deep red which ment they copied. And they got in trouble for it. Now in college I don't even think about copying anything without citeing anything. So don't copy!~NICKEL

Copyright and Ethics
Copyright and Ethics don't really seem to go together. Copyright is what is keeping greedy people with NO ethics from stealing your work. Copyright is a good thing! Like the clip we watched in class about the person taking small clips from multiple disney movies and using them to make a long movie, but he would only use small pieces so it falls under a law where you can use very small short segments.
Copyrighting is a great idea and a great law.
Copyrighting is a great idea and a great law.
The Future of Ideas
The Internet revolution has produced a counterrevolution of devastating power and effect. The explosion of innovation we have seen in the environment of the Internet was not conjured from some new, previously unimagined technological magic; instead, it came from an ideal as old as the nation.(Lessig)
This is a small sample of Lessigs article which states that the internet is somewhat making mankind go backards. i agree with him somewhat but everyone can't agree fully. The part i agree with is that people are relying on the internet for their answers when they should be making their own decisions. I disagree with him in the point he makes that it is "counterrevolution" i beleive that this is making our human race "move along or ahead" and im sticking to it and not beleiving all of what he is saying~Nickel
Where is Rap headed?
I just recently had the oppurtunity to listen to the radio the whole way from Louisville to Murray since my car stereo is under construction and while i mostly got bombarded with christmas music and christian rock there was the occational rap station that came in clearly and was it ever HORRiBLE! If you look back into the old school GOOD rappers like Beastie Boys, Run DMC some of Tupac etc. it is like a completly diffrent genre of music. When i listent to the lyrics about things i can't type without getting in trouble i get disgusted or laugh, since i am 22 yrs old, and when they talk about stupid dances and doing unspeacable things to hoes....haha Ok but the worst thing is that all of these teen and now pre teen girls are listening to this thinking its good when the whole some is completly making women look like trash and calling women unspeakable things. i dont know if i just grew out of it and started listening to the lyrics and not the beat or what but its giving guys a bad name. Drugs, Hoes, Money, Cars and smackin hoes yeah thats what everyone wants to hear about.NOT NICKEL!!!~Nickel
Evaluating Information on the Internet
Ok this is an easy one that we discussed in class. Its easy because all you really have to do is use your brain(if you have one) and weed out the good from the bad. For example; if your looking for information about a TV you might buy let's say reviews. you wouldn't want to go onto the manufacturers website for reviews because most likely they all will have POSITIVE reviews. you may want to go onto a second or third party like bestbuy or tvreviews.com(i just made that up) this way you will have many different sources to EVALUATE your product before making the final step of purchasing it.
This is the same for information for papers. You dont want to go onto google and find the first website you click on and take all of that information and copy it onto your paper without taking other sources for a test drive, if that makes sense.~Nickel

Information cocoons and Wikis'
Information cacoons? sounds funny doesn't it? well its not it is abused by millions of innocent people a day. Information cacoons are, to me, a hermit like state that a person stays in and only watches reads and hears what he or she wants too. Its like a person sitting in their home on the computer on the same website everyday eatting the same thing everyday and watching the same news cast every day just because SOMEONE TOLD THEM TOO. which is bad mmkay. You should always be a leader and not a follower, this informational blog can also be as a life lesson also,Nickel has many gifts to give, and you should and can take the inforation that anyone gives you and mold it like clay to your liking.
If you do not go out and do your own research and pick out your own "things" than someone else will and you will be stuck in a dreaded INFORMATION COCOON!!!!~Nickel

Everyone be so crazy about the debates.
Ok so i was watching the Republican debates the past month or so and have seen enough! Now i am a Conservative and will be voting for a republican in the upcoming election in 2012. My question is since the very first presidential election it has always been about the other person doing something bad in the past or making your opponents look like total asses. Im 22yrs old and i myself am getting fed up with all of hoopla. Its getting ridiculous its who can make the other person look like more of an ass and whoever that is gets to be president. I just want a good old fashioned debate. maybe arm wrestling or checkers and if you win you get to be president. It wouldnt matter anyways all government are crookss anyways~Nickel Kurnik

What we Can find on the internet
Or better yet what we dont want to find on the internet. Now a days when you go into a job interview they may ask if you have a facebook or "Google" search your name. This can be good or bad very bad. For example I worked at a car dealership the past summer and we googled a employees name and came to find out that he had been caught taking money from a local bank that he worked at and putting it in his own bank accounts. So he got fired. BAD INTERNET! But this is a good thing because if we hadnt typed the persons name in do you think it was a possiblility that he could have tried to steal money from our work? Yes thats a possibility so we can find alot on the internet.
Everything from maps to cooking recipes is on the internet to fake virtual worlds that let you be a diffrent person and live another life. have we strained to far away from P2P contact? Is the internet taking us over because we CAN FIND everything on it? You can get a degree online, work online and everything else in between. You dont even have to leave the house just order grocerys or a pizza online. and im sure you can find a drug dealer online to. So yes we can find anything online holy crap that's kind of scary!~Nickel

A World Wide Web of Change
Since Al Gore "invented the internet" im sure he would have never imagined it would be like this today. With the internet just being used for military to now it being in almost every home in the united states, us Americans are kind of co dependent on the internet. We seem to be getting away from books and hard copies of information i.e maps, stories, library catalogs etc and putting it all on-line or at least be accessable from a computer. This is both good and bad. We have evolved "technologically" over the past 20 years or so when the internet was known. We can all remember the dial up sound, need i not say the tune, to high speed internet where you can stream movies in a click or watch a live football game. The only question left is what next?~Nickel

New MSU Library
Ok this article in the newspaper got me really heated. it was about 9:30 in the morning and i see a new building photo on the front of msu's paper. its the new library, Im like "cool we need that" but then i read on and it says that the CURRENT students should have to pay for it. now that got me so mad it was not even funny. Now you tell me why in the hell I should pay for a library that is not even going to be near completion when i graduate? their response is that "students will come back to use it" or some other crock of bull. i dont want to come back to murray i want to move on with my my life and not look back. dont get me wrong this has and continues to be the time of my life but why should i have to pay for a library if im not going to use it???~Nickel is pissed!!!

Chronicle of Higher Education
Trying to control the digitized world? haha! hat's funny. i beleive their is no way a person or a group of people can really "take over" the internet or digitized works like books journals etc on the internet and computers. Like we were talking about in class how people were talking about censoring the internet. i beleive that is also a bunch of bolgonia. Now this all can get in the same realm of copyrighting and rights to things. If someone is going to try to take on THE INTERNET im pretty sure they are going to lose just as these people are trying to protect digitized works. i think that digitizing works is good and will preserve them for future generations incase there is a zombie apocalypse.~Nickel

Database or Interface?
Navigating a database or interface can either be a challenge or a hassle. This all can depend on how the user layed out the website, seaarch engine etc. Databases are just big storage units that hold information but instead of having one door they have many. For example out library database we have here on campus. it can be accessed through the library, anywhere on campus or at your home 500 miles away. Databases are EASY AND FUN... sometimes.
The interface part comes into play on how user friendly the database is or isn't. An interface is where 2 or more people or "things" come into contact with eachother and take or receive information. It is a critical part in databases because its usually the front door to a database.GET YO D BASE ON~Nickel

2011 Acura TSX

The Acura TSX is acuras entry level small 4 door sedan, or a "sport wagon. it can come equiped with base or a tech package which adds navigation and a few other options. the engine choices are a 4cyl and a v6 derived from the bigger TL and MDX suv. they are made in japan and are transported by ship to the states. in Japan they are called the Accord but has a total diffrent design here in the states and has a few body changes. The one thing i highly suggest is the larger v6 engine. The smaller 4cyl just does not have enough torque for the car and unless you are looking for a classy vehicle with good gas mileage than go for the 4 cyl but if you want some fun in your acura go for the v6. The TSX was started in 2004 and has gone through one model change which is just small body changes and a few more interior options. The tsx is a great 1 or 2 person vehicle but if you have a family go with a larger vehicle. I'am still waiting for acura to come out with a performance model or one with awd but that is yet to be produced. all in all this is a great small car which handles excelent and has a slightly lower price tag than the larger TL.~Nickel http://www.acura.com/
2012 Acura TL Review
Acura is the luxury division of Honda motors. In Japan this brand is none existant it is simply just called Honda. For example toyotas luxury division is lexus and Nissans luxury division is called Infiniti. So onto the review. I used to work at an Acura dealership, it is a very high class dealership and all that we sold was luxury vehicles Acuras of course used mercedes, lexus, porsche etc.
The 2012 Acura TL is Acuras best selling 4 door car. it has 3 models to choose from. Base, tech, and advance. The diffrences are options like navigation crash detection sensors and different wheel pacages as well as awd and fwd. The interiors are well layed out and simple to figure out. It is very user friendly. They all come standard with heated seats, power seats and sunroof. All aAcuras now come with leather interiors.Wednesday, September 28, 2011
Dewey Decimal System
The dewey decimal system is a way of organizing books and confusing the common man. i remember back in grade school we had to learn this system and it took our whole class forever. i do remember that it runs from 000-on up to 900 i think. each number is associated with a class or catagory like medicine, environment, sports ect. Now my take on the DDC. I'm wondering why cant we just label the books by the last name and stick them in the appropriate section? it seems alot easier and it wouldnt waste so much time having to label all the books. but thats just me. Here is some history and information on the dewey decimal system. It was founded in 1876 by melvin dewey, i guess that's why they call it the dewey decimal system. anyways it does go from numbers 000 to 900 and does have the different classifications of subjects. Im not to much of a book guy but i do think it is a way to organize books. I think they should just assign it a number and be done with it but thats just me. They can call it the nicky decimal system~Nickel
Information Content
Information Content, where do we get i and what is it? Well I depends on what we use, we have reference books, magazines, maps and others. Let's compare 2 types of informative pieces. lets's use The newspaper vs. the internet. Now the newspaper comes out either everyday or every week depending on where you are the internet is ALWAYS there and always updated dependinf on what source you use. If you want a quick answer to a news story for example a building that caught on fire today than it would most likely be on the internet on a news website. It will also be in a newspaper but you will have to wait for the information to be investigated, revised, printed and distributed. Now you will get up to the minute information via the web but it may not all be there and it could be wrong. Usually when it is printed in the newspaper it is correct. Also you must take into consideration that senior citizens or "old people" do not know how to use the computer let alone turn the computer on so the best way for them to retreive information is through the paper. Its all a personal prefrence and depends on demographics.~Nickel
Do We Value Information?
Value information...Do we. we have all sorts of places we can get information from. books, magazines, people, the list goes on and on. but how do we know if the information is correct and VALUBLE? Is the information we are using or reading valuble to us? Is the information fake or non related to what we need or is it what we need. i beleive we can distunguish this information by seeing where the information is and where it is coming from. you wouldnt go out and buy a car based on someones word saying that "hey that's a good car" we do research and pick out the good information from the bad or information that we do not like. So to sum it up its somewhat of seeing if the information we are looking at is
1. Relative to us
2. True
3. Informative
4. Helpful

Information As a Resource(information obesity)
Information ahhh, what makes us smarter information but can we have to much information? that is the question. The article that was distributed in class mentioned something called Information ObeSiTy. SOoooo i will blog it up about that today. Information to me,Nickel, is just an overwhelming amount of information givin at one time that is different and or not correct. This could be if you were typing a paper and you used MSU libraries database, google, wikipedia and your 80yr old grandpa to talk about WWII. Now you might think that this is great you have tons of information, but how do you know that your grandpa is crazy and telling you false information or that wikipedia is completly wrong...maybe your grandpa wrote on it.haha. ok but seriously its like having an overload of information. so how do you keep away from information obesity? just pick 1 or maybe 2 sources to start off with. Not just any resource but a reputable resource such as your local library or a well known published book. dont get it twisted get yo info str*~Nickel
Information Landscape @ MSU
Not until i took this class LOR ###. I had no idea how many options we had to retreive information from. I thought all we(as in students) had the library meaning books and the almighty google. As our class progressed through the semester my eyes opened so much to all the data that msu has to offer us for free, well its not totally free because we are paying an arm and leg to go here but thats another blog post... i have just recently got an assignment saying that i MUST use the library as a resource which i am very excited about doing. I feel hat i can get 100% correct information from the library's database and not have to guess and hope that the wikipedia articles are correct. I beleive this class should be mandatory for every incoming freshman, im a junior, and i beleive i could have done much better on my papers by knowing how much information we had in the library. Its the 21st century libraries are not just for books anymore, its an infinate database of awesome information, agree?~NickelWednesday, September 21, 2011
TAGS!!!
TAG YOUR IT!. no not that type of tag. "tagging" is what i should have said, tagging a picture online or tagging a website, like my blog. This is something that we use to locate certain things on the internet. Let's say i wanted to find a picture from a long time ago of a Green 1969 camaro with a bunch of girls in red bikinis around it. ok what do you type in the search bar? green 1969 camaro... well that would just bring up a million camaros you might get lucky and find the right picture but most likely not. so you could type something like " green camaro girls red bikini." voila it worked. see whatever the picture is tagged as you have to find specific words that match the picture. It sounds confusing but its really not we just did it in class... So you need keywords and maybe some time to find out whatever your looking for. Good luck~NickelTuesday, September 20, 2011
ACURA MDX
The Acura MDX. The new luxury foriegn suv. I have worked at an Acura dealership for over 8 months. These are the most inovative and technological vehicles i have been in, excluding the over priced, "rich mans Mercedes" BMW piece-o-crap i have ever driven, besides there overwhelming tech advances. BMW sucks!!! The Acura MDX is based off the Honda Pilot, which is a MDX in black sheeps clothing. The MDX is by far the best mid-sized suv ever built. For the money you get the performance of Ferrari, the looks of Lamborgini, and luxury of Rolls Royce, in a 50K automobile. i have driven over 100 of these vehicles, over a distance of 500 miles. To me this is the most bang for the buck suv. i highly recomend this vehicle for any two to seven person family. Foriegn vehicles are taking over ~ NickelWednesday, September 14, 2011
MID-LIFE CRISIS!!!!!!
Oh geez your around your 40's your kids are gone and you are having second thoughts on your career, marriage, ect of geez oh geez what ever shall you do? What is a midlife crisis? I dont know because im not 40 but i can tell you what the all mighty GOOGLE says about it and after i asked a few old people HA. ok It seems like this mid life crisis thing is attributed to ones thoughts of his "life" as a whole and what is the next thing they are going to do or buy. The first thing that comes to mind is BUY A FANCY CAR! this can go back to my forbes post about the stupid audi R8 that you shouldnt buy, but whatever. It seems that the first sign of someone going through it is buying a fancy car they don't need. Another could be attributed to "getting old" and having to buy young people stuff like dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and other teenager type deals. Or maybe they are going bald so they buy stuff that takes away from there baldness i do not know im only 22. im half way there.-Nickel
INFORMATION LANDSCAPE (FORBES)
Ok i picked http://www.forbes.com/ (rating 4 out of 5) because it makes me feel rich and i asked "it" what was the "coolest car" for millionares right now. Before i get into answering the question the website is clean and simple. No crazy pop up ads or no extra "stuff" going on in the background or anything, just good information. It even has the stocks in the lower corner of the page! I like the search feature so you do not have to go through tons of frop down menus to find what you want and the search results you get are clear and always on forbes.com not playing off of google. I found answering this question very easy.
What is the most BALLIN'st car out now for millionares? The Audi R8, big surprise to me NOT. ever since that movie with will smith and the crazy robots came out all the rich people, and fake rich people, had to have one. I think i saw at least 3 or so over the summer while i was working at an upscale car dealership. Yes the R8 is nice and fast and i guess the girls like it but do you really want something that everyone else has? Yeah some people just want to fit in and be accepted and they buy a car to do it. When i was working over the summer we had porsches, mercedes, lexus ect at our lot and i got to drive every single one(LUCKY ME) and i have to say that being in a car that was "diffrent" was far cooler than being in a car that has now been in tons of movies and every rappers driveway-Nickel

Big Questions? THE WORLD IS ENDING AHHHHH!!!!
Big questions. How do you classify something as a big question? Why is the sky blue why can you not see air? why am i spending $30,000 to go to school? These could all be BIG questions to anyone, or they may not be to other folks. When will the world end?Although that may be scary to most it is a big question that everyone has to think about. So lets talk about that, When and Why do people think the world will end in 2012. I just watched a tv show on The History channel about people preparing for "The Apocolypse". Families had bunkers in there basements arsenals of guns and more food than a costco stock pilled up. I recall one family going through drills on how fast they could put their apocolypse gear on...crazy right? I know. Why Do People Buy Prius'?
GAS VS HYBRID TECHNOLOGY
woohoo toyota prius! its advertised to get about 50mpg and the cost of a new one is $24,520, http://www.toyota.com/ (depending on states and msrp). Now the question is, Is It Worth It? To me no. ok take a Honda civic base model which gets 35 or more mpg, now you can get one of those for $15,605 msrp according to http://www.honda.com/. Now you justify the cost diffrence which is around $9000. You next take into your annual fuel cost for each vehicle and the Honda is a better deal. You would have to keep the Prius for way longer to justify the cost over a Honda.
next is the reliability of the Prius. We have not "mastered" hybrid technology yet and you must take into consideration if that $5,000 battery in the Prius will last 10 years. The Honda has a more simple design while the Prius has more computers and other doodads than a space ship. So over the long term the Honda is by far a better buy. Now im just comparing the Honda civic because its a all gas powered economy car and the prius is its biggest rival next to the corrolla.

BUT WAIT! i still have not answered the question why do people buy them? I have heard some people say they do it for the environment when that is a false statement. the lipo battery that is in the prius is way more harmful and toxic than the carbon dioxide coming out of the Civics gas engine. case and point Honda wins for gas, reliability and saving the environment. PLUS THE PRIUS IS UGLY AS HELL!, just my opinion.... Nickel

IS GOOOOOOGLE MAKING US STUPID???
Maybe......If you think about it. Look, ig you are typing a paper and say you dont know what a "mortgage" is where do you go? GOOGLE or WIKIPEDIA. Right? BUT!!! i do not beleive its making us stupid, i beleive that it is making us smarter. We are in the "Tech" age and being able to have an infinite amount of data at your finger tips is awesome and makes us "smarter" If you wanted to look up what a mortgage was 20 years ago you had to get an encyclopedia and look it up, but now you open a new tab and their you go a million billion trillion "things" you can look up watch or comment on,like my awesome blog!
To sum all my words up NO i do not beleive or think GOOGLE or the internet is making us dumb, now dont get me wrong it may be making us lazier but thats another story.NICKEL

Topic to Thesis Statement
what a thesis should be. " contestable, proposing an arguable point with which people could reasonably disagree."
Ok, when you think about a thesis statement some people cringe and some people cry. It usually means you have to write a super long paper and come up with one line to sum it all up. In my past paper writing days the teacher would always have us come up with a "thesis". Why? What was the point? Just let us write the paper and get on with it. But now further into my educational career i now see how this is a great tool to use. To me a thesis statement is like the glue that holds the whole paper together. First you come up with key words like what we did in class which was a great idea mold them into something called a sentence that has some sort of argument or question associated with it, and viola you have a THESIS! Now knowing this little tid bit of onfo. I will now start my papers off this way, knowing that it will be a strong backbone to my incrdibly awesome paper. And thats Nickels 2 cents.
